Before Phish, Zappa & GD. Dogpile with 60s, 70s rockers. Must consider influences: Mississippi, Nashville, Detroit et al. Sprinkle le Jazz a la All Forms. More composers etc. Swirl in the rest of the world: reggae & dub, afropop, bollywood.

Phish, in a few words

The only rule is it begins, happy happy. For me, that was Jazz Fest 96 after three painful missed opportunities the year before: Mud Island, Austin Music Hall, and Fabulous Fox Theater.
